More Than Work

I am a multi-disciplinary maker of beautifully useful things that enrich lives. I was born in Colorado and am very thankful to call Denver home with my wife, our two boys, and our dog.

I've honestly had a fantastic career so far, working alongside brilliant people for the best brands in the world—from redesigning Android at Google to building design teams at FIS, with stops at Slack and beyond. I've been lucky enough to design experiences, lead teams, and launch businesses that have changed the world we live in today. There have been significant failures along the way and some incredible successes because of the collective creative force. I also lead Blank, my consultancy and venture platform, where I get to build things that matter.

At 36, I was diagnosed with high-grade bladder cancer. The battle has been brutal—severe complications from treatment including sepsis, having to stop treatment entirely, and watching my health deteriorate month by month. There have been days when I could barely function at 20% capacity. But I'm still here, still fighting, still creating. Cancer teaches you what matters: my family, my faith, and using whatever capacity I have left to do meaningful work and support others.

I'm pretty damn passionate about the enneagram. I believe it wakes us up to ourselves and gives us a path towards radical change. You will see me use language like "saved wretch" because I'm a Christian who remembers sanctification is progressive & my salvation is secure while God finishes His good work. I've walked through financial hardship, lost a worship leading job that gutted our family's income, maxed out credit cards just to survive, and learned that vulnerability isn't weakness—it's the only honest way forward.

I'm happy to chat about design, business, strategy, faith, and the enneagram. If you need help or perspective, I'm always glad to help or be a listening ear.

If you are a man & want to discuss anything like mental health, suicide, therapy, addiction, or battling serious illness, my email is always open. You're not alone; there are men who are open and will freely be there to listen & walk with you.
